Community Mailers & Printers, Inc. is a woman owned and operated print shop and mail house located in Hollywood California. In 1970, we came into being. Diane Smith, President of Community Mailers was part of Peace Press, a collective printing and publishing for social, political and cultural groups from 1967 thru 1987. Community Mailers was born of a basic desire to support the fundraising efforts of non-profit organizations through print work and direct mail. Our mission was to have producing creative, quality work at a very competitive price be our contribution to those organizations that are making a difference.
In 1974, Diane left Peace Press to pursue a career as a course leader for Landmark Education Corporation, Inc. She led courses for people interested in making contributions in their communities, educating them in marketing, enrollment and grassroots fundraising. As her students went on to create their own non-profits, they began to seek print shops and mail houses to support these projects. They found the industry lacking. Many of these print and mail businesses were not well-versed in industry regulations and postage saving design basics, especially when it came to effective marketing and cost efficiency in direct mailing. Diane saw a need to re-enter the print and mail industry. It was out of this need that Peace Press re-opened her doors, this time with a new face and a new name.
In 1995, Diane opened Community Mailers & Printers, Inc. with a renewed commitment to making available competitively priced custom printing and mailing at the lowest possible discount postage rates as well as insuring you get the most for your marketing dollar.
